Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Brian M. Gillett has joined the firm as of counsel in the Litigation Practice. Mr. Gillett, who arrives from Susman Godfrey, will start in the Houston office before relocating to Dallas in late summer.
Mr. Gillett handles complex commercial matters on both the plaintiff and defense sides at all stages of litigation in state court, federal court and arbitration proceedings, from discovery through trial and appeal. His practice focuses on business and energy disputes, including claims for breach of contract, patent infringement, misappropriation of trade secrets, breach of contract, fraud, and antitrust violations.

His robust skill set presents an exciting opportunity to continue the expansion of our litigation capabilities in the Texas market and across the firm’s global platform,” said Michael Forshey, managing partner of the Squire Patton Boggs Dallas office.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Gillett served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carolyn Dineen King in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.A. and a B.S., summa cum laude, was a finalist for the Brown Foundation–Earl Rudder Memorial Outstanding Student Award, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Gillett received his J.D. with highest honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where he was named a Clerk of the Chancellors, inducted into the Order of the Coif, and served as Associate Editor of the Texas Law Review.
