Robert Cheren is an associate in the Squire Patton Boggs Environmental, Safety & Health Practice Group.
Robert provides strategic representation to manufacturing and energy sector clients facing enormous regulatory pressures.
Robert has published four articles on environmental law. For this scholarship he received the Stanley I. and Hope S. Adelstein Environmental Law Award for Best Paper on Environmental Law in 2013 and the Stanley I. and Hope S. Adelstein Environmental Law Award for Third Best Paper on Environmental Law in 2012. Robert was invited to present and publish his research on local legislative fracking bans in the Property and Environment Research Center’s “Workshop on Federalism and Environmental Policy” with several distinguished law, economics and political science professors in October 2013. Robert’s interests in environmental law are rooted in his work as a law student on the development of Professor Peter M. Gerhart’s Property: Our Social Institution casebook as project manager and senior research assistant.
Robert served in his third year as publisher of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. In that leadership position he published Volume 63, which included a well-received symposium issue, Hydraulic Fracturing: The Law and Policy of the Natural Gas Boom, to which he contributed an article with Professor Peter M. Gerhart.
