Anita Lloyd


Anita Lloyd is a director in our Environmental, Safety & Health group. Anita specialises in environmental and sustainability matters, including waste, environmental permits, producer responsibility, asbestos, contaminated land, and has particular expertise in climate change law.

She also has significant experience in the environmental aspects of complex property and corporate transactions, in particular in the industrial and brownfield redevelopment sectors.

Anita has been recognised by The Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. She is a member of the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association and its Working Group on Climate Change and Energy.


  • Advising a large chemical company on waste and permitting issues, including appealing an enforcement notice from the Environment Agency.
  • Advising a US manufacturer on compliance of its products with a range of EU requirements, including CE marking of pressure equipment and labelling under the Biocidal Products Regulations.
  • Advising a number of trade associations and large companies on Climate Change Levy Agreements, the EU Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme and the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme.
  • Advising a chemical company on the proposed acquisition of a chemicals business in the UK which involved many shared site and permitting issues.
  • Advising a large energy company on the acquisition of a brownfield site associated with a new power station, including complex remediation requirements, guarantees and environmental insurance.
