How many of your employees were absent long term in the last 12 months?  How many might take sick leave this year?

If the statistics are to be believed, long-term sickness absence remains a key challenge for UK employers, hence the Government currently rolling out its new “Fit for Work” service designed to help employers get employees back to work more quickly.

Join us at our May Employment Workshop when we will use a DVD clip featuring our fictional HR Manager to explore:

  • the new Fit for Work service and how it will impact on your current sickness absence management practices, including changes to policies and procedures;
  • potential pitfalls when managing employees on long-term sickness absence and how to avoid them - we will share the challenges we have advised on and ideas for change;
  • dismissals and the alternatives, including ill-health retirement and permanent health insurance; and
  • lessons to be learned from recent case law.
This workshop is suitable for line managers who are responsible for managing absenteeism as well as HR Professionals. It will include an opportunity to ask questions of our Employment Law specialists and to share experiences with others.

Registration is at 8.45 a.m. for a 9 a.m. start. Workshops last 1 1/2 hours.
