We are pleased to invite you to a seminar to consider some of the legal issues that may arise should the UK vote for Brexit.

We will cover each of the topics listed below with our experts, giving a practical insight into the sorts of issues which businesses may face if the UK votes for Brexit. We are uniquely placed to add insight from our European Public Policy team, based in Brussels and the UK, as to how businesses can try and influence the way a Brexit would be implemented. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the team during the course of the afternoon.

Topics covered will include:

  • International trade and contracts – New trade scenarios (ad hoc free-trade arrangements, WTO fallback rules, customs union principles) and how these will impact UK businesses’ exports and supply chains.
  • Employment and immigration – whether existing laws derived from Europe could be repealed, how the movement of workers could be impacted and what the employment law/HR landscape may look like without the influence of a European court system.
  • Finance and Tax – the impact on regulated entities and finance documentation, customs duties and VAT, corporation tax: the withdrawal of treaty freedoms.
  • Litigation and compliance – will cross border litigation/insolvencies and enforcement become more challenging and will compliance areas such as environmental and health and safety law, become less onerous?
  • A policy view from Brussels – How our Public Policy teams in the UK, Brussels and Washington DC can advance your business objectives.
  • The Eurozone perspective – An insight as to how a Brexit may impact the remaining Member States.
The second part of each seminar will provide delegates with an opportunity to be involved in a Q&A session with our main speakers by joining a series of break-out groups.
