As Confucius (may have) said: “we live in 'interesting' times”. 2016 is proving to be very interesting!

Join us at our Autumn 2016 Employment Seminar when we will discuss the key issues for employers during 2016, many of which are affected by the recent Brexit vote and subsequent political changes, including:

  • Gender pay gap reporting – This new measure will apply to private companies and voluntary-sector organisations that employ 250 or more employees. Failure to comply with the obligation to report gender pay gap figures may result in a fine (that is not subject to a cap). We will discuss the practical steps that employers should be taking to prepare for this change.
  • Health and safety for HR – While health and safety is everyone’s responsibility, HR has an important role to play in developing and maintaining a positive health and safety culture. The HR team is often on the front line in dealing with health and safety issues in close collaboration with in-house legal, the health and safety team and/or occupational health. We will look at some of the key practical health and safety issues that HR professionals need to know.
  • Trade Union Reform – The highly contentious Trade Union Act 2016 is likely to have a profound impact on the industrial relations landscape for years to come. We will summarise the key provisions which will have the greatest impact on employers.
  • Holiday pay – The saga of how you should be calculating holiday pay rumbles on. We will bring you up to speed with the latest developments.
  • Business immigration post Brexit update – Immigration is proving to be one of the most contentious issues arising from the Brexit vote. We will review the latest position and what it means for employers.

At this seminar we will also update you on other key employment law developments as, post-Brexit, we move towards a future outside the EU.

As always, you will have the opportunity to ask questions of our experts, as well as to share experiences with other delegates.

This seminar is suitable for Legal and HR professionals.
