Squire Patton Boggs’ Fred Nance and David S. Goodman Recognized to Inside Business’ “Power 100” List

Squire Patton Boggs Regional Managing Partner Fred Nance and Cleveland Managing Partner David S. Goodman have been named among Northeast Ohio’s most influential leaders by Inside Business Magazine.

The annual “Power 100 List” lists the men and women who most influenced the region’s economy and which are poised to do the same in the coming year.

In addition to serving as Squire Patton Boggs’ regional managing partner, Mr. Nance leads the firm’s Sports and Entertainment Group in the US. From 2009-2012, Mr. Nance served as the Cleveland Browns’ General Counsel, while remaining a partner at Squire Patton Boggs. His current capacity with the Browns is as Senior Advisor and Special Counsel. Within the community, Mr. Nance is a member of the Executive Committees of the Greater Cleveland Partnership and the Ohio Business Roundtable, and is the most recent past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the 50 Club of Cleveland. Mr. Nance currently serves on the Boards of the Cleveland Clinic (as a fiduciary director), The Cleveland Foundation, the Greater Cleveland Partnership and RPM International Inc. He was recently appointed by Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson to two boards dedicated to downtown and lakefront development. Mr. Nance also serves on the Advisory Board of the National Association of Black Sports Professionals.

Prior to his role as Cleveland managing partner, Mr. Goodman served as a co-leader of the firm’s nationally known public finance practice for several years. Mr. Goodman leads the firm’s representation of the Ohio Water Development Authority (OWDA) as bond counsel and special counsel. As bond counsel for OWDA, he has handled more than US$3 billion of bond issues in pooled loan programs for water and wastewater projects. Mr. Goodman’s leadership capabilities extend beyond the Cleveland office walls. In June 2013, he became Chair of the Board of PlayhouseSquare Foundation, on which he has served since 2007. He also serves on the board of TeamNEO and on the Visiting Committee of Cleveland State University's Levin College of Urban Affairs. From 2006 through 2012 Mr. Goodman served on the board of The George Gund Foundation, the largest private foundation in Ohio.
