Squire Patton Boggs Santo Domingo managing partner Alejandro Peña-Prieto has been named among the leading lawyers in Latin America for the fourth consecutive year by Latinvex, Latin America’s leading business publication. The annual list of “Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers” recognized Mr. Peña-Prieto in the categories of “M&A” and “Energy.”
Winners were selected based on a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of firm in Latin America and rankings by third parties such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and Thomson Reuters.
Mr. Peña-Prieto counsels clients on corporate, mergers and acquisitions, energy, finance, taxation, government relations, contracts and regulatory issues related to doing business in the Dominican Republic. He concentrates his practice on providing strategic business counsel to US, Latin American and European investors, with significant business interests in the Dominican Republic, particularly in the energy, banking and finance, real estate and hospitality and consumer products sectors.
In addition to Latinvex’s ranking, Mr. Peña-Prieto has recently been recognized by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association (LACCA) as one of the region’s leading lawyers. He was one of 391 practitioners from across 20 countries that the LACCA elected to be on its 2016 Approved Lawyers list for Corporate/M&A.
