Dr. Dana Beldiman has structured complex IP transfers as part of corporate transactions, both domestic and cross-border. She has counseled on, structured, drafted and negotiated numerous agreements in the IT and life sciences/chemical areas, including all forms of licensing, development, distribution and systems integration agreements, as well as corporate IP management and monetization strategies (licensing-in/licensing-out programs and guidelines).

Dana has also structured brand protection programs; provided strategic advice on mark selection, clearance and monitoring; conducted trademark prosecution in front of the Patent and Trademark Office and Trademark Trial Appeal Board, from application through registration; has handled domain name protection; and has provided strategic advice on international patenting and copyright matters.

Dana is a member of the faculty of UC Hastings, San Francisco, and of Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, Germany, where she teaches courses in IP licensing transactions, international and comparative intellectual property, trademark and unfair competition, intellectual property and human rights. She has also taught at the University of Strasbourg (CEIPI), France, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, China, Santa Clara University Law School, Santa Clara, US, Riga Graduate School of Law, Riga, Latvia.

She was instrumental in founding the Transnational Center for IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy, Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, Germany, and serves as its Academic Director and Chairman of its Academic Advisory Committee. She serves as co-director of the International IP Transactions Summer Program, organized jointly by Bucerius Law School and UC Hastings.

Dana has presented on IP topics at numerous academic conferences and professional gatherings in different countries, including Austria, China, France, Germany, Latvia, Singapore, Tunisia (World Summit for the Information Society) and the US.

She is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation, which promotes the role of public service and pro bono work in the practice of law and the development of public policy.
