Dr. Alexander Imberg is a first chair trial lawyer with more than 20 years of experience in litigating cases across the US. Clients primarily engage Alex in high-stakes and complex product liability and commercial litigation. As a native German, he started his legal career in Germany. He moved to the US in 1996 and has been practicing here since 1998. In his litigation practice, Alex represents clients from a broad variety of industries, including the automotive, technology and energy industries. Many of his clients are German and other European companies, as well as their US subsidiaries, ranging from publicly traded entities to family-owned (Mittelstand) companies.

Litigation

Alex represents clients in state and federal courts throughout the US (including in Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Texas), predominantly in complex and high-stakes automotive product liability litigation. He regularly appears in US federal and state courts and has tried major US cases to verdict.

Products Liability

Alex’s practice focuses on the defense of manufacturers and distributors of various products, including automotive and other consumer products, in wrongful death, catastrophic injury and major property loss claims. His practice predominantly focuses on single plaintiff claims, but also includes class action litigation.

Litigation Coordination and Risk Management

Alex serves as national coordinating counsel for a number of companies, including Germany's premier auto manufacturer and a leading German plumbing system manufacturer. In that role, he directs the defense of hundreds of cases across the US. Based on his trial experience, he also counsels clients in the area of product safety, preventive product liability and risk management.

Corporate Transactions

In his role as the chair of the firm’s global German Practice, Alex frequently advises German and other European companies in establishing subsidiaries and setting up business operations in the US. In doing so, he capitalizes on his experience as a litigator in trying to identify and mitigate potential risks across all types of industries. He also assists his clients in complex commercial transactions and contract negotiations as part of multidisciplinary teams.
