Simon James is a director based in the Pensions department in our London office. Simon joined the firm in 2010 as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in 2012.

Simon has a varied general pension practice, advising trustees and employers in the public and private sectors, including a number of funds with assets in excess of £1 billion.

Simon has particular expertise in pension scheme disputes and administration projects, and advises one of the UK’s largest pension schemes in relation to its member disputes. Simon also focuses on advising on pension investment matters, including for a number of local governments.

Simon’s experience includes spending 12 months on secondment at the professional secretariats of two of the UK’s largest pension schemes. This experience has helped Simon to give practical and pragmatic advice, with insight into the inner workings of modern UK pension schemes.
