The Columbus office of global law firm Squire Patton Boggs has received the “Outstanding Service by a Law Firm or Corporation” Award from the Legal Aid Society of Columbus. The award was presented at a reception hosted by the Columbus Bar Foundation and the Columbus Bar Association on October 25.

Led by a team of Squire Patton Boggs associates, these lawyers provide much-needed legal services to an underserved part of the local community. Their service includes work in the Volunteer Resource Center Consumer Project, Improving Conditions and Neighborhoods, and the Paralegal Association of Central Ohio (PACO) Wills clinics.

In the past two years, at least 42 Legal Aid Society clients have received help from the firm’s lawyers. Columbus associate Meghna Rao accepted the award on behalf of the Firm, speaking about how the Pro Bono Program is beneficial to young lawyers who value opportunities to hone their advocacy skills and interact with judges, but also help those in need. The firm thanked the Legal Aid Society of Columbus for providing these invaluable opportunities to young associates. Over the past year, Squire Patton Boggs devoted more than 30,000 hours to pro bono activity in the US.
