International Affairs Advisor, Matthew Kirk, discusses the state of American politics with a leading light from either side of the political divide - former Congressmen Jack Kingston (R) and Joe Crowley (D). They look at the impact of COVID-19; the response to the killing of George Floyd; relations with China, the EU, and the UK; Kanye West’s possible candidacy; and the prospects for and implications of the Presidential elections in November. Although both were exemplars of bi-partisan working when in Congress, they were unable to come up with a bi-partisan prediction of what comes next. An enjoyable and informative exchange about this year’s most significant political event.
