We are proud to be participating in a Houston Bar Association – International Law Section webinar on Antitrust in LATAM: Major Enforcement Trends and Best Practices.
Of counsel Jose Martin will be joining the panel.
Where in the past, Latin American businesses have emphasized issues related to enforcement and compliance of anticorruption laws, antitrust issues have now come center stage. With this new emphasis, this panel will highlight the need for companies not to lose sight of the region’s robust antitrust laws, which, in many cases, have been more vigorously enforced by independent national and multilateral authorities than those of anticorruption.
Discussions for the panel will include:
- Major trends and developments of antitrust enforcement with a focus on Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico
- Cooperation between governments and competition agencies in the region
- Recommendations on how to prepare and respond to internal whistleblower actions
Other panelists include:
- Alejandro Garcia de Brigard, Brigard Urrutia
- Paola Pugliese, Demarest
- Bryan Elwood, Tricon
