Beginning Jan. 1, 2011, and continuing into early next year, fundamental changes will affect every claim or litigation in the country involving a Medicare beneficiary plaintiff. During this period, defendants, insurers, workers compensation plans, or any other entity will not be able to settle or pay a judgment to a Medicare beneficiary without reporting the payment, along with over one hundred other data points, to the Medicare program.
