TECHCOMM CLIENT ALERT: FTC Seeks Input on Plans to Update its “Dot Com Disclosure” Guidance for Online Advertising

    On May 26, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) called for comments on its “Dot Com Disclosure” guidance, noting that “the online world has changed dramatically.” The FTC’s Dot Com Disclosures: Information About Online Advertising dates from 2000 -- before Facebook, Twitter and mobile apps. The FTC publication gave specific examples about how traditional FTC disclosure rules should be applied to online advertising and sales.
