This article, by Squire Sanders partner Stephen P. Anway, discusses the revisions to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Rules of Arbitration, adopted in September 2011. As stated in the article, the revisions “contain a number of significant amendments, including new provisions addressing multi-party and multi-contract arbitration and a new emergency procedure that allows parties to seek urgent interim relief before the constitution of the arbitral tribunal.” Stephen provides an overview of the key changes to the rules, noting that the emergency arbitrator provision is likely the most significant revision.
