On Thursday, November 3, 2011,  Patton Boggs hosted a webinar on the recent passage of the Korea-United States Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) in the U.S. Congress and its implications for U.S. companies. The KORUS FTA is the largest trade agreement approved by Congress since the North American Free Trade Agreement and the United States’ most commercially significant free trade agreement in more than 16 years. The Agreement is expected to support at least 70,000 U.S. jobs and bolster the already-strong U.S. security alliance with democratic South Korea. The webinar addressed the specific terms of the FTA, ways companies can take advantage of the Agreement, and international growth opportunities for agriculture, financial services and other industries interested in the Korean market’s offerings.
