The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has published a final revision to its Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims at 16 CFR Part 260. The changes are intended to help marketers avoid making environmental claims the FTC would consider to be unlawfully unfair or deceptive advertising under Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, 15 U.S.C. 45, and were preceded by public notice of the proposed revisions and the opportunity to comment in late 2010.
