Telemedicine: An Interactive Approach to Healthcare in the Wake of Healthcare Reform

    November 2012

The American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) recently distributed in the November 2012 issue of its HIT News publication the article "Telemedicine: An Interactive Approach to Healthcare in the Wake of Healthcare Reform," authored by Squire Sanders lawyers India K. Brim and Scott A. Edelstein.

The article discusses how telemedicine is assisting healthcare providers to accomplish healthcare reform initiatives of improved access and affordability. As the focus on patient technological capabilities is moving to the forefront, due in large part to the greater accessibility and affordability of such technology for patients and healthcare providers alike, more options are being created for how individuals can receive healthcare. With the expansion of telemedicine, patients now have a more cost-effective alternative to the traditional face-to-face approach to receiving medical care.
