“Big Data” and Privacy Protection – Nick Allard

    In a New Jersey Law Journal article published August 15, 2013, DC Partner and Brooklyn Law School Dean Nick Allard writes that the phenomenon known as “big data” has made privacy rights “the biggest civil rights issue of our time.” Claiming that historically America has been “ambivalent, if not conflicted,” about privacy matters, Mr. Allard points out that there is no room for uncertainty in a digital world and that protecting people’s privacy will require a new generation of lawyers “steeped in privacy law and the implications of big data.”
