Please find attached our summary of wind generation appeal decisions issued between 5 November and 2 December 2015.
Some facts for you in relation to the summary:
- 17 decisions have been issued during this time, 8 of which were allowed
- 11 related to single turbine projects, 6 of which were allowed
- 2 related to two turbine schemes, one of which was allowed
- 4 related to larger schemes, only one of which was allowed
With regards to the English decisions, decisions have noted the WMS as a material consideration. Briefly looking at the interpretation of parts of the WMS, one Inspector looked at the number of support and objections letters and noted 78% were in support and subsequently concluded that this met the transitional provisions and another Inspector found that ‘local community’ was 500m -1km from the proposed turbine.
