Recent Amendments to Russian Legislation and Their Effects on Communications and Information Law

    In early July, President Vladimir Putin signed into law various amendments to Russia’s Federal Law, designed to counteract terrorism activities and enhance public safety. The Amendments to Terrorism Legislation makes significant changes to almost two dozen federal laws on a very broad range of issues which are associated one way or another with countering terrorism. Among these amendments are two that will affect Communications Law and Information Law, which includes information, information technology and information security.
