The Cabinet Office, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Health and Safety Executive must be heaving a collective sigh of relief. Not only have they pushed out a 60-page Covid-19 strategy document entitled "COVID-19 recovery strategy", but also the specific guidance for employers "to help get Brits back to work", including eight specific sector guidance documents. No doubt the product of many late nights over the last week or so.
BREAKING NEWS: The Chancellor has just announced that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme will be extended until the end of October 2020. Apparently, furloughed workers across the UK will continue to receive 80% of their current salary, up to £2,500 and from the start of August, furloughed workers will be able to return to work part-time with employers being asked to pay a percentage towards the salaries of their furloughed staff.
