Washington, D.C., October 2—Patton Boggs LLP is proud to host the Fourth Annual Women in Power® Forum in Washington, D.C. This electric industry Forum has attracted a distinguished group of speakers, including Commissioner Suedeen Kelly of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), FERC Office of Enforcement Director Susan Court, FERC Technical and Policy Advisor Mary Beth Tighe, and State Commissioners Valerie Lemmie (Commissioner, Public Utilities Commission of Ohio), Kristin Mayes (Commissioner, Arizona Corporation Commission), and Christine Bator (Commissioner, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities). In addition, attendees will hear panelists from other federal agencies, the private sector, and non-profit associations.
Since 2004, Women in Power® has been bringing together women executives and government leaders in the electric industry to share insights on important electric policy issues and explore how they can work together to improve the industry. A number of themes will be discussed at this year’s Forum, including the future of electric competition and best practices to serve consumers, FERC enforcement policy, new open access transmission, reliability and standards of conduct rules, technological innovations which improve efficiency and make more clean energy available, the future of transmission siting, and challenges facing the coal-based generation sector.
“For four consecutive years, we have had the distinct privilege to bring together the most successful women in electric industry to share their insights at our Forum. We have strived to make it an annual “must-attend” event for industry leaders,” remarked Debbie Swanstrom, Patton Boggs partner and Women in Power® chair. “The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to hosting another great event this year. If women work together, we can improve the industry and provide better service to consumers.”
The Forum will be held Thursday, October 4, from 8:45 am to 5:15 pm, at Patton Boggs’ 2445 M Street, NW office located in Washington, D.C.
