Christmas has come early for youngsters at Birmingham Children's Hospital thanks to volunteers from a local law firm.
The volunteers from Hammonds have transformed three wards at the hospital with scores of sparkling Christmas decorations and a Santa's grotto following a cake sale and jeans day at the firm’s Birmingham office.
The wards care for children and young babies undergoing surgery, some of whom will be spending Christmas in hospital this year.
Melanie Yates from Hammonds said: "As children and families all over Birmingham begin to look forward to Christmas we wanted to remember those who won’t be able to celebrate at home this year or to take in the city's festive decorations."
"By taking responsibility for decorating the wards our aim is to bring a bit of Christmas magic to the children, their families and the fantastic staff at Birmingham Children's Hospital who work round the clock to provide the highest level of care."
The fundraising challenge was carried out with support from Business in the Community. Hammonds has been a member of the organisation since 2003 and regularly encourages its employees to step away from their desks and try their hands at community work.
