A team from Hammonds LLP has advised Brit Insurance on its four-year deal with the England and Wales Cricket Board to replace Vodafone as the principal Team Sponsor of England Cricket.
The agreement will start in January 2010 and will mean that the Brit Insurance logo will feature on all playing and training apparel worn by the England Men's and Women's Cricket Teams as well as the England Lions and England Disability Teams. The sponsorship package also includes advertising in grounds, team image rights and access to members of England Cricket Teams for commercial and marketing usage.
Brit Insurance, a FTSE 250 listed company, is already a well-known brand in cricket through its naming rights deal for The Oval and sponsorship of Sky Sports' coverage of the England home Test Matches. The company also sponsors Surrey County Cricket Club.
Hammonds commercial partner, James Hennigan, led the team advising Brit Insurance. He was assisted by Paul Smith and Tim Taylor.
James Hennigan said, "We are very pleased to have advised Brit Insurance on what is one of the largest and most prestigious sponsorship deals in English cricket. The deal demonstrates the strength of the team in advising not only right holders but also brand owners in their commercial sports arrangements."
