Andrew Jordan, one of Leeds' leading corporate finance and private equity lawyers, is joining Hammonds LLP today (2 November 2009) as a partner in its Leeds Corporate team.
Andrew spent 20 years at Hammonds before leaving to set up a corporate team at Nelson & Co, which later became part of Gordons LLP. A partner at Gordons until earlier this year, Andrew was responsible for a number of significant private equity mandates, most recently advising the management team on the £129m buyout of Warwick International.
Commenting on his appointment, Andrew said: "Hammonds has a clear market focus, and its young management team have the energy and determination to succeed. I am thrilled to be joining the firm to help spearhead its presence in the region and I expect Yorkshire to see Hammonds going from strength to strength."
Jonathan Jones, head of Hammonds Leeds office, said: "We are delighted that Andrew is joining the firm. His track record of commercial judgement and transaction delivery fits perfectly with our own approach, and his reputation and market knowledge will complement our young and dynamic team.
"Hammonds is looking for quality lawyers who can add value to our existing teams and we expect to have other similar announcements to make in the coming months."
