The nine-month fellowship introduces participants to key areas of state government, giving them an unparallel opportunity for first-hand experience with state government operations and public service.

“It’s been a privilege to be part of the Gubernatorial Fellows program during the past four years, and I am very pleased to continue my role as a director,” Mitchell said.

Mitchell centers his practice on real estate development and finance, commercial real estate, banking and finance, the hospitality industry, international law, and administrative and regulatory law. He is listed in The Legal 500 US, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Business Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America. He was named by Best Lawyers the 2009 Tampa Real Estate Lawyer of the Year. He also was named by Florida Trend magazine among the Florida Legal Elite in the area of real estate transactions and was selected by his peers as a Florida Super Lawyer – one of the top 5 percent of lawyers in the state.

In addition to his continuing role with the Fellows program, Mitchell is a member of the board of directors of the University Club Tampa. He is also currently serving as a member of the steering committee selected by the Mayor of Tampa for the development of a light rail/commuter rail system in the Tampa Bay area, and as a member of the advisory board of the University of South Florida School of Architecture.
