Global law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. advised Eaton Corporation on its recent joint venture agreement with Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (SAMC), a subsidiary of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC).
The planned joint venture will support the COMAC C919 single-aisle commercial aircraft program and will focus on the production of fuel and hydraulic conveyance systems for the global civil aviation market. Eaton will own a 49-percent interest in the program, and SAMC will own a 51-percent interest.
“Our client has a long-term and expanding presence in China, and we were very pleased to assist it with this key project,” said Daniel F. Roules, Squire Sanders’ lead lawyer. Roules, who is based in Shanghai, was assisted by Weiheng Jia, Doris Chen and Michael Xu.
