Tax partner Brian Andreoli, who brings extensive experience in transfer-pricing and cross-border tax matters, has joined Squire, Sanders & Dempsey’s New York office, adding to its substantial capabilities in international taxation.
“Brian has unusually deep expertise in cross-border tax planning including transfer-pricing issues and negotiating Advance Pricing Agreements in multinational transactions,” said Bernhard Gilbey, co-leader of Squire Sanders’ Taxation & Benefits Practice Group. “Clients who are dealing with complex multinational business tax challenges will benefit tremendously from Brian’s extensive experience in these key areas.”
Mitch Thompson, co-leader of the international tax segment, said Andreoli is joining the team at a very exciting time given the recent combination between Squire Sanders and Hammonds.
“Current and prospective clients are already very interested in our expanded cross-border tax capacity,” Thompson said. “Brian’s premier reputation in this area will be a tremendous boost to our ability to meet those clients’ needs.”
Andreoli held management positions as director of taxes and risk management with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and with KPMG and Ernst & Young before moving to private legal practice. He joins Squire Sanders from DLA Piper LLP.
“Brian brings valuable client perspective as well as years of experience with international tax issues,” said Edward S. Sinick, New York office managing partner. “That client perspective is important because Squire Sanders places a high priority on understanding our clients’ businesses. Brian is a tremendous addition to the New York office as well as our international taxation practice.”
Andreoli said he looks forward to making significant contributions to the taxation practice and to working with Squire Sanders’ multidisciplinary client teams.
“Squire Sanders’ lawyers serve clients as an integrated team, and I am very excited to become a member of that team,” Andreoli said.
