Squire, Sanders & Dempsey fielded a global team to advise Hitachi Data Systems Corporation on the company’s acquisition of BlueArc Corporation. The all-cash transaction was announced Sept. 7.
Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd.
“This acquisition positions HDS as a leading player in the fastest growing segment of the storage market and supports the company’s strategy of giving customers seamless access to all data, content and information,” said Squire Sanders lawyer David A. Saltzman. Saltzman directed the Squire Sanders team supporting HDS’ in-house legal team led by Lori Pfaffmann.
The Squire Sanders team included lawyers in the corporate, intellectual property, antitrust, and labor and employment practices, among others, in offices in California, Ohio and Washington DC, Germany and the United Kingdom. The team was supported by Australia-based lawyers joining Squire Sanders as a result of Squire Sanders’ combination with the Western Australia office of Minter Ellison.
