Squire Sanders Hammonds has announced the appointment of Catherine McKenna as the global practice group leader of the pensions team.
Catherine joined the firm in 1994 and has been a partner within the pensions team for 15 years. She is ranked as a leading individual by Chambers and Partners in its 2012 clients’ guide to the legal profession and in this year’s Legal 500 directory where Catherine is noted for her ‘excellent pensions knowledge and commercial approach’.
Commenting on Catherine’s appointment, Peter Crossley, European managing partner of Squire Sanders Hammonds, said: “Catherine is a very talented lawyer who has had been involved at a management level within the business for a number of years. She has played a key role in the success of the pensions team and the firm and we are pleased that she will be taking the helm to support our team in the next phase of its development.”
Squire Sanders Hammonds' pensions group is a key practice within the firm and is one of the largest and most experienced pure pensions teams, with 14 partners and 45 other specialist lawyers. The UK team is supplemented by colleagues in the European and US offices who carry out pensions and benefits work.
