Washington, DC and Newark, April 15, 2013 – The New Jersey Law Journal (NJLJ) has named Patton Boggs’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group a Litigation Department of the Year, as part of NJLJ’s Litigation Departments of the Year competition. Open to law firms with a New Jersey presence, the annual competition recognizes top departments in general litigation and certain specialty practice areas.
Patton Boggs’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice prepares complex, multifaceted scientific and medical defenses in single and multi-plaintiff class actions, in both state and federal courts, on behalf of individual clients and groups of defendant.
The practice is distinguished not only for the breadth and scope of the matters it defends, but its close working relationship with the firm’s public policy, lobbying, and administrative and regulatory practices – facilitating comprehensive representation in court, before federal regulatory agencies and before Congress.
“We are honored to be recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal for our work in products liability and mass torts,” said James E. Tyrrell, Jr., regional managing partner and chair of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice. “This recognition was earned by the hard work of every member of the practice. It also clearly indicates the trust our clients place in us,” Mr. Tyrrell added.
