Squire Sanders announced today that education law expert Daniel Jaffe has rejoined the firm in the Labor and Employment Practice Group. Jaffe will be based in the Cleveland office.
Jaffe’s practice focuses on the representation of boards of education. Jaffe has represented school districts in negotiating collective bargaining agreements with unions representing teachers and staff; labor arbitration cases; mandamus cases; special education due processing proceedings; unfair labor practice charges; and contract termination proceedings.
Over the course of Jaffe’s 23-year history as a lawyer in Ohio, Jaffe has represented dozens of Ohio school districts, including those of, Euclid, Willoughby-Eastlake, Cleveland Heights/University Heights, Beachwood, Solon, Orange, Hudson, Warren, Niles, Stow-Monroe Falls, Bedford, Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Garfield Heights, North Olmsted, Fairview Park, Olmsted Falls, Lakewood, Avon Lake, Firelands, Berkshire, Kenston, Cardinal, Northwestern, and Cleveland.

Jaffe comes to Squire Sanders from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he has taught education law and contract drafting. Over a period of 6 years teaching at the law school, Jaffe maintained a relationship with Squire Sanders, having co-authored Baldwin's Ohio School Law with Squire Sanders partners Richard Manoloff, Michael Sharb, and Timothy Sheeran. Jaffe has served as principal editor on six consecutive editions of Ohio School Law. Jaffe graduated in 1983 from Columbia University with a B.A. in History, and attended Columbia Law School where he received a J.D. in 1989.
