Squire Sanders has been voted In-House Community Firm of the Year 2013 for International Arbitration in South Korea and also received an Honorable Mention for Most Responsive International Firm of the Year 2013 (South Korea) according to Asian-MENA Counsel’s Representing Corporate Asia & Middle East Survey 2013.
Over 20,000 in-house lawyers and buyers of legal services across Asia Pacific and the Middle East were invited to participate in the survey. Participants were asked, among other things, for their comments on the quality and value of service received from external counsel in their jurisdiction and which firms they ‘prefer to use.’
Joon Yong Kim, managing partner of Squire Sanders’ Seoul office, commented: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from our clients in South Korea. Although we opened our office in Seoul just 12 months ago, we have been advising a wide range of Korean companies from our offices in Tokyo, Beijing and Los Angeles offices for nearly 30 years. These accolades show the progress we have made in this market and our standing with businesses in Korea.”
“From an international arbitration perspective, we are pleased that our award-winning team, recognized as one of the top 30 international arbitration firms in the world by Global Arbitration Review, is so highly regarded in South Korea,” said Peter Chow, partner and leader of the International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice in Asia Pacific.
