For the second year in a row, Squire Sanders has received the Green Innovation Award presented by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) Green Initiative Committee. Squire Sanders was honored at the September 23 David Webster Greener Way to Work Day luncheon.
CMBA annually presents the award to the law firm or law office that best demonstrates innovation in sustainable practices. This year’s award recognizes Squire Sanders’ innovative and dedicated work on its Bike Committee, a program that encourages bicycling for recreational and commuting purposes. The program provides employee amenities such as free access to showers, lockers, and bike storage at The Bike Rack, a downtown Cleveland’s bike commuter station, of which Squire Sanders serves as a sponsor.
“We are deeply honored to once again receive this award,” said Austin McGuan, head of the Squire Sanders Bike Committee. “It is a testament to the dedication our Cleveland office staff has to promoting a healthy lifestyle and sustainable practices throughout our community.”
Earlier in the year, the League of American Bicyclists recognized Squire Sander with a bronze-level Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award for leading America toward a greener and healthier future, making the firm the first-ever organization in Greater Cleveland to receive the distinction.
“Squire Sanders has been a leader within the Cleveland legal community in implementing sustainable practices throughout our operations,” said David S. Goodman, managing partner for the firm’s Cleveland office. “The green initiative is part of our corporate culture. We’re proud to receive this designation and will strive to continue setting the bar high for environmental responsibility.”
