Squire Sanders has once again achieved a 100% rating in the 2014 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), published annually by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the largest advocacy group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees in the US.
“We are honored to once again receive a 100% rating and proud to be ranked among many of our clients and peers,” said James J. Maiwurm, chair and global CEO of Squire Sanders. “This recognition is a testament to the dedication and progress Squire Sanders has made, and our commitment to continue encouraging and supporting diversity within the workplace.”
Squire Sanders was one of 81 law firms to achieve the top rating. The Foundation researched more than 730 employers, including more than half of the Fortune 500 list. The index is based on the Foundation’s independent research, as well as information submitted by the businesses themselves. Each is evaluated on criteria such as non-discrimination policies, diversity training covering sexual orientation, employer-provided domestic partner health insurance and other resources available to LGBT employees.
“Diversity is one of Squire Sanders’ core values,” said Traci H. Rollins, partner and co-chair of the Squire Sanders Diversity Committee. “We are pleased to be recognized as a versatile workplace that supports the success for all of its employees,”
