EMEA Chair of Squire Sanders’ Global Corporate Practice Jane Haxby has been recognized as one of The Lawyer magazine’s Hot 100 2014. The exclusive list, which appears in January, celebrates the ‘legal stars’ of the previous year and those set to ‘make a splash’ in the year ahead.
Ms. Haxby, formerly Managing Partner of the firm’s Manchester office, was appointed Corporate EMEA Chair in July 2013 and, as such, has joint responsibility with the Americas and Asia Chairs for corporate team strategy and business development worldwide. She acts for public and private companies on all aspects of corporate finance with particular focus on mergers and acquisitions (including takeovers) and equity capital markets transactions. Jane Haxby is one of 12 UK corporate lawyers to be recognized in this year’s Hot 100.
The Lawyer noted that Ms. Haxby is “one of the few women to take on such a high-profile appointment in an international firm, providing a great role model for Squire Sanders’ younger female corporate lawyers.” Alongside the global practice group management and leading Squire Sanders’ Equity Capital Markets team in Europe, Jane continues to advise a very wide range of clients, across the UK, Europe and internationally – among her deals in 2013 were the £100 million cross-border acquisition for Cardtronics Europe Limited of the entire issued share capital of Cardpoint Services Limited from Payzone Ventures Limited, and advising Findel plc on the class 1 disposal of its healthcare division Nottingham Rehab Limited.
