Yale Law Women has named Squire Sanders among its 2014 Top Family-Friendly Firms. The list recognizes firms for leadership in developing and implementing family-friendly policies and practices to support the success of women. Squire Sanders is highlighted for the gender equitable composition of its executive committee and for having high percentages of male and female associates using part-time schedules.
The survey explores family friendliness indicators such as part-time and flex-time options, the billable hour requirement, parental leave policies and childcare availability, and examines their uptake by male and female lawyers. The report drew on survey responses from Vault Law 100-listed firms, as well as a concurrent survey of Yale Law School alumni working at those firms.
Squire Sanders values diversity highly and supporting the female agenda is part of its culture. The firm’s commitment is evidenced through its Women’s Initiative and various committees, which support balanced hours, business development, and mentoring. The firm was recently ranked 5th for number of women partners in The Lawyer’s annual survey of the top international law firms in London. In 2013, Squire Sanders became the first international firm to launch a women’s law section in Saudi Arabia, offering legal services by female Arab lawyers to Saudi businesswomen.
