The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA), the national voice of the Hispanic legal community, has elected Squire Patton Boggs lawyer Traci Martinez Deputy President for Region X. Region X consists of activities in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
“We are incredibly proud of Traci,” said Alex Shumate, Managing Partner, North America of Squire Patton Boggs. “Traci exhibits a natural sense of leadership that is demonstrated in her relationship with clients as well as in the Squire Patton Boggs and Columbus communities. Members of HNBA will benefit tremendously under her direction and vision for the Association.”
As Deputy Regional President, Ms. Martinez will be responsible for initiatives within her Region, including: conducting and assisting with fundraising activities; proactively promoting the HNBA, including participating in the activities of the Affiliate Organizations, student bar activities, and other bar associations; recruiting qualified persons and organizations to join HNBA as Members; and report activities and perform such other duties as the executive management may direct from time to time.
Taking a unique approach to her national practice, Ms. Martinez focuses on advising public and private sector clients on various aspects of employment law from all types of discrimination issues to negotiating collective bargaining agreements. In addition, she works closely with the utility locating industry to provide representation concerning complex breach of contract, negligence, and defense and indemnity issues. Ms. Martinez is recognized in the 2014 Ohio Super Lawyers – Rising Stars, a distinction that recognizes lawyers under the age of 40 or those in practice for 10 years or less.
Ms. Martinez began her term June 1, 2014.
