Squire Patton Boggs has been shortlisted for two awards at the LawCareers.net Training and Recruitment Awards. These awards honor the firms and individuals who offer their recruits the best possible start to their legal careers in the UK. This year, the firm has been shortlisted in the categories of Best Trainer and Best Training Principal, for which training principal Giles Chesher has been nominated.
Mr Chesher said: “To be shortlisted in two awards categories is a huge achievement for us and highlights our pre-eminence in the legal recruitment market. I am very proud to be the firm’s training principal, and of the fantastic experience which we give our trainees, the vast majority of whom remain with the firm long after their training contract has come to an end. We are delighted the judges have recognized the importance the firm places on the successful recruitment, retention and development of our trainees.”
Victoria Pickworth-Booth, Squire Patton Boggs’ recruitment specialist, commented: “Trainees at Squire Patton Boggs are able to benefit from the chance to create their own individual training programme. All our trainees take part in a three-month client secondment ahead of starting their training contract, which helps to develop their understanding of both the legal market and the wider business community. This is followed by six four-month seats, enabling our trainees to develop responsibilities and gain experience in areas of law which interest them.”
The awards ceremony will be hosted at the Merchant Taylor’s Hall in London on 19 May. You can follow the awards on Twitter using the hashtag #LCNawards16.
