Squire Patton Boggs partner Frank M. Placenti has been appointed to serve as a member of the Coordinating Committee for the 2016 Delaware Business Law Forum, a prestigious bi-annual event at which leading members of the corporate governance bar, members of the business community and members of the Delaware Judiciary convene to discuss and produce position papers with respect to topical governance issues. The Forum will be taking place November 4–5, 2016, at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, Delaware.
Mr. Placenti, who serves as the President of the American College of Governance Counsel and as Vice Chair of the ABA Governance Committee, leads the US Governance Practice for Squire Patton Boggs. With more than 30 years' experience in corporate governance and M&A matters, Mr. Placenti is no stranger to the boardroom, both as an advisor to some of Arizona's largest public companies and as a member of numerous public and private company and non-profit boards of directors. He has had leading roles in advising boards throughout the country and in Asia in connection with governance matters.
Later this year, Mr. Placenti will present at the 19th European Corporate Governance Conference on October 27, 2016, in Bratislava, Slovakia. This event, held under the auspices of the President of the Slovak Republic, is co-organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic and will include speakers from throughout the European Union. The overall conference theme will consider the impact of digitization and transparency on corporate governance, with Mr. Placenti specifically focusing on the evolving global corporate governance standards.
