Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that Leah Brownlee has re-joined the firm as of counsel in the Global Corporate Practice. She most recently served as Executive Vice President of Compliance and Operations and Corporate Secretary at Cleveland BioLabs, Inc., a clinical-stage NASDAQ-listed biotechnology company with a focus on biodefense and oncology drug product development.
“As a hands-on executive and board advisor to life science companies, Leah has successfully navigated the challenges and capitalized on the opportunities that growing companies in this field face,” said Stephen Chelberg, Squire Patton Boggs’ Global Corporate Practice co-chair and leader of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice. “We are delighted to have her back as part of the team.”
With a focus on the life sciences industry and broader technology sectors, Ms. Brownlee brings the varied skill set of a general counsel to the firm. Ms. Brownlee will advise clients on corporate and securities matters, including venture capital and strategic financing, public and private capital markets transactions, securities law compliance, stock exchange listing requirements, intellectual property and licensing strategy, government contracting and corporate governance. She also has expertise in counseling public and private companies in connection with other corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures, manufacturing, distribution and research agreements, and on general business matters.

Ms. Brownlee served as the Cleveland BioLabs board appointee to, and board chair of, Panacela Labs, a joint venture company with Rusnano, which focuses on development of oncology technology in the Russian Federation.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas and a Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University.
