International law firm Squire Patton Boggs has appointed Dr. Sabine Pittrof as a partner in its Global Corporate Practice Group in Frankfurt. Dr. Pittrof joins from Deloitte Legal in Frankfurt.
Dr. Pittrof provides corporate law advice on German and international business transactions, particularly M&A, and also has a strong international focus on Australia. Specializing in projects in the energy and environmental sectors, Dr. Pittrof has advised on several major industrial projects such as refuse-derived fuel and biomass power plants. She particularly advises strategic investors and financial investors on transactions in the areas of renewable energy and Cleantech. Her clients include enterprises in the energy, automotive, real estate and technology sectors.
A law graduate of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, as well as a doctor of law of the University of Heidelberg, Dr. Pittrof has been the Chair of the German Australian Business Council e.V. since 2012 and she will head the new Australian desk of Squire Patton Boggs in Germany.
Tony Reed, EMEA Chair of the Global Corporate Practice Group, stated: “Sabine’s cross-border experience in corporate M&A, financing and real estate and environmental law adds considerably to our capabilities in Germany and internationally. Also, her knowledge of the Australian market and her professional leadership in German-Australian business matters fits so well with the high-profile work we do in both of those important jurisdictions.”
“We are very happy to be able to welcome Sabine as a new Corporate partner at the firm,” said Dr. Kai Mertens, Managing Partner of the Frankfurt and Berlin offices. “She possesses outstanding expertise and will significantly strengthen our Corporate team and contribute to the development of the practice in Frankfurt.”
Commenting on her appointment, Dr. Pittrof said: “I look forward to working as part of the Global Corporate Practice Group at the firm. I have been impressed by the cross-practice expertise and strength of Squire Patton Boggs in Germany and by the firm’s comprehensive global presence, which will greatly benefit many of my clients.”
Together with Dr. Pittrof, Julia Dolleschel has also joined the Frankfurt office as a senior associate in the Global Corporate Practice from Deloitte Legal. The Frankfurt office continues its expansion. The arrival of Dr. Pittrof and Ms. Dolleschel follows the major hire in December 2016 of an IP and Litigation team from WilmerHale with the partners Dr. Christofer Eggers and Reinhart Lange.
In October 2016, Squire Patton Boggs established its global German practice, in which all German-speaking lawyers of the firm, from Shanghai to San Francisco, are engaged, in order to offer global advice in German to clients, especially those operating internationally in the middle market.
