The Bratislava office of Squire Patton Boggs has recently been recognized for its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) at the Via Bona Slovakia Awards 2016. The results were announced during a gala evening organized by the Pontis Foundation at Stará tržnica, Bratislava, which was also attended by Slovak President Andrej Kiska.
The office was awarded a certificate of merit (Good Partner for the Community) for achieving a systemic change in debt discharge and personal bankruptcy. Partner Silvia Belovicova accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
Since 1998, the Via Bona Slovakia awards have recognized both inspiring corporate philanthropic efforts and responsible entrepreneurship projects. Nominees come from a wide range of companies that help community and employees, respect the environment, fight against corruption and attempt to resolve social issues in Slovakia. The most inspiring CSR examples are selected by independent juries composed of representatives from the business sector, public administration, media, non-governmental sector and educational institutions.
