The Financial Times (FT) has recognized Squire Patton Boggs in two separate categories in its 2017 North America Innovative Lawyers Report. The annual report, and its awards, is a unique program that assesses law firms, in-house legal teams and other legal service organizations on their innovation for clients and in their own businesses. The firm was "Commended" in the categories of "Data, Knowledge and Intelligence" and "New Products and Services."
In the category of "Data, Knowledge and Intelligence," Squire Patton Boggs was recognized for the creation and launch by its global Corporate Practice of Marketplace, a central online platform that collates market opportunities, such as investment opportunities and companies seeking acquisition targets, from the firm's network of clients, intermediaries and other connections.
Separately, the firm was recognized in the category of "New Products and Services" for the development by its global Labor & Employment Practice of Global Edge, a subscription-based information portal providing up-to-date employment advice and future developments, currently covering 30 jurisdictions. The FT commended the "On the Horizon" feature that provides updates on upcoming legislation and the potential business impact. This is the second recognition Squire Patton Boggs' Global Edge. Earlier in the year, the firm was "Highly Commended" in the category of "International Law Firm Innovation" at the LegalWeek Innovation Awards 2017.
This year, the FT and its research partner, RSG Consulting, received nearly 550 submissions and nominations and conducted more than 600 interviews with clients, senior lawyers, executives and experts. Entries are scored based on originality, leadership and impact. Read the full report.
