Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce that John A. Tancabel has joined the firm as of counsel in its Litigation Practice, based in Dallas.
“The addition of John to our team is an exciting development for the Dallas office and the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. His experience with complex business disputes adds significant depth to services we offer our clients,” said Michael Forshey, managing partner of the Squire Patton Boggs Dallas office.
Mr. Tancabel is frequently called on to handle high-stakes, complex business disputes in state and federal court as well as in arbitration. Mr. Tancabel has extensive experience representing owners of privately held companies in disputes with their co-owners, including asserting and defending fiduciary duty, fraud, breach of contract and securities-related claims. Additionally, he has significant experience in multijurisdictional matters and in defending class action claims. Mr. Tancabel has helped defeat class certification in many cases.

Before joining Squire Patton Boggs, Mr. Tancabel practiced law at a national corporate law firm, where he acted as the co-chair for the company’s business divorce practice. Directly following law school, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Sidney A. Fitzwater, who was the Chief Judge of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas at the time.
