Squire Patton Boggs is pleased to announce the addition of Elaine Panagakos as of counsel in the firm’s Litigation Practice, based in Washington DC. She arrives from Crowell & Moring.
Ms. Panagakos works extensively in insurance litigation and counseling, with a particular focus on matters involving educational institutions. She has developed experience in toxic tort matters from the dual perspectives of both insurance coverage and underlying tort law. Ms. Panagakos has also worked on legal implications of scientific advances, advocating for the integration of causation rules and evidentiary standards with reliable scientific methodology. Earlier in her career, Ms. Panagakos worked as a civil litigator representing plaintiff landowners in class actions seeking just compensation. She also has experience with franchise litigation and counseling.
In the past two years, Squire Patton Boggs has made a number of significant additions to its insurance litigation capabilities across the US. In Washington DC, partners Deirdre G. Johnson and Paul W. Kalish joined from Crowell & Moring, and of counsel Ellen Farrell joined from Markel Services. In Phoenix, trial lawyers Richard M. Amoroso and Christina (Tina) W. Kelly joined from Polsinelli. In Columbus, former Ohio Insurance commissioner Mary Jo Hudson joined with a four-lawyer team.
“I have been impressed by the firm’s continued commitment to expanding its insurance capabilities, and am excited to continue working with Deirdre, Paul and Ellen again,” said Ms. Panagakos.
