Squire Patton Boggs partner and head of the firm’s UK licensing team Stephanie Perraton has been appointed deputy vice president of Birmingham Law Society (BLS) from today, 1 May 2019. Under the terms of the appointment, Ms. Perraton will move into the role of vice president next year, and then to president in 2021.
Established in 1818, BLS is the largest regional law society in the UK and, as deputy vice president, Ms. Perraton will represent and serve more than 5,000 members from law firms and barristers’ chambers across the Midlands.
This is the first time in its history that BLS has appointed an all-female leadership team, with Linden Thomas taking on the role of president and Inez Brown as vice president.
“I am delighted to have been appointed to the leadership of Birmingham Law Society and to have the opportunity to work alongside Linden and Inez in support of our dynamic and vibrant legal community,” commented Ms. Perraton.
“It is an honour to follow a succession of excellent leaders, which include former colleagues John Aucott and Jayne Willetts, who made their mark as previous presidents of the Law Society. I am looking forward to maintaining the Birmingham Law Society’s inclusive tradition of engagement and representing the interests of all of its members across the Midlands.”
